

Gregory Kane Judge, 72, passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2025, in Toms River, NJ. Born in West Orange, NJ, to the late Charles M. and Marie Judge, Greg grew up in Short Hills and was a graduate of Millburn High School, Class of 1971. He attended Seton Hall University and was active in the Pershing Rifles ROTC Program. Through college, Greg worked for Country Club Services as a parking supervisor. He graduated from Seton Hall University with a BA in Government. He joined the Millburn Police Department in 1980 where he spent his career and retired as a Sergeant in 2003. He lived in East Brunswick, NJ for most of his adult life where he raised his family and was a member of St. Bartholomew’s Catholic church. After retirement, Greg was very active in many clubs and organizations including the Knights of Columbus, the Elks of Manasquan, and the Leisure Village West community, namely the golfing club. Greg had a passion for adventure and took many trips over the course of his life, cruising to Hawaii, Alaska, Bermuda, and Nova Scotia as some examples.
Greg was predeceased by his siblings, Charles Mark Judge, Jr. and Diane Marie Judge. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Marilyn (Goss), his cherished daughters, Theresa Clark and her husband Elton and Melanie Judge and her partner Ryan Driscoll. He also leaves behind his adoring granddaughters, Amelia and Alice Clark, his siblings and their spouses and partners, Stephen, Kevin, Paul, David, and Carol Templeton, as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will miss him dearly.
Family and friends will always remember Greg for his classic sense of humor, love of controversy, and uncanny ability to bring levity to any situation. He approached life with a lighthearted spirit and was always ready to share a laugh with those fortunate enough to know him. Those closest to Greg will cherish his jokes and witticisms, retelling them during family gatherings to ensure his memory lives on with warmth and joy.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 19 from 2-5 PM at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Avenue, Livingston, NJ. Funeral mass will be offered at St. Rose of Lima Church, 50 Short Hills Avenue, Short Hill, on Monday, January 20 at 11AM, with interment to follow at Restland Memorial Park, East Hanover.
