 Although we are a year late in learning of Hamo's death, we wanted to express our condolences to his family and friends.
My dad introduced me to Hamo over 32 years ago. He was our plumber, but my dad considered him a very good friend.  My dad always said Hamo was one of the most decent, and honorable men he had ever met and he was right. Hamo was a kind soul with a gentle spirit who would go out of the way to help anyone in need.  Over the years when I moved out to the country with my family Hamo would just show up and say "How about some scrambled eggs with lots and lots of onions and burn my toast" My husband and I would gladly grant his wish and laugh. He would stop by the local dairy farm out here to get fresh milk, he loved the country.  We are saddened to learn of his passing, but  now our minds are at rest knowing why we no longer hear from him.  Hamo was truly an angel among us who walked in the flesh. Though he is gone, he will never be forgotten, Hamo's memories will live on in the hearts of my family and I forever.

Just left the funeral at St. Mary's when in the eulogy, Hamo's love of people and passion of his heritage was noted. It reminded me when we first moved to Livingston in 1982. My brother had gotten us a lawn sign custom made, as a house gift. It had a penguin, holding a sign, with our family name on the sign. I placed it in the front lawn. 

The next day, our doorbell rang, which is when first I met Hamo. Without introducing himself first, he said How is your coffee in Armenian, and barged in for a visit. 

That was Hamo. 

No doubt he is now in heaven, knocking on a lot of doors.

Hamo - His favorite phrase, especially during a construction project when things were not going right, was NO PROBLEM!!!  That sort of was his philosophy in life.  He was very inventive in his plumbing solutions and a general all around "fix-it" man.  He was very supportive of me and my family during our medical issue. I always enjoyed his unannounced visits.  They do not make them like him anymore! Our family will miss him greatly, and we extend our condolences to Silva and the family.

To know  Hamo was to love the man. Fond memories of pulling furnaces out of basements and his heavy cream on a white sub roll sandwiches. My condolences.

Please accept my most heartfelt sympathies for your loss. Our thoughts are with you and your family during this time. It's hard to know what to say, except that you are thought of in friendship and in sympathy. No matter how old we are, losing a Parent is one of the deepest sorrows a heart can know. But his goodness, his caring and his wisdom live on like a legacy of Love that will always be with you. Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, Love leaves a memory no one can steal. I met Hamo almost 20 years ago and remember he was very passionate about his work . I have only seen him around town a few times over the years but he was always a very friendly man. God bless him and his family.

Mankind lost a noble person with a noble soul. Hamo will be remembered as a free-spirited man who touched the lives of many.
He fought a good fight, he finished the race, and he kept the faith.

Let's celebrate Hamo's life and pray for his soul.

For the friends and family of Mr Baboomian, I am so very sorry for your loss. May the God of all comfort hear your heartbroken prayers and support you during these difficult times.

I only got to know Hamo through illustrating the book Joseph Basralian wrote about him.Met him only once. I had to think and try to understand him for many months as Joe and I worked on his story. This book means a lot to me because it helped me understand what kindness and caring are all about. Hamo was and will continue to be a shining light for all of us that had a chance to know him even a little bit.

To our extended family, the entire Baboomian family,

Jennifer and I are so sad but so grateful. Sad because we will miss Hamo's presence everywhere. Sad because of the pain of loss you all are suffering through. Sad because at 82 years old he was still taken too early. But glad because we are part of the fortunate few to experience your Dad's loving and boisterous ways. His soul will live on brightly in the memories of the one's whose lives he touched, especially ours.
