Harold J. McCornac

Harold J. McCornac, age 88, of Livingston, NJ, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday April 12, 2023. Hal grew up in Poughkeepsie, NY. In his younger years he enjoyed playing the trombone in the school band and found his love for photography. Hal began his career with General Electric . He had many experiences working on the development of jet engine starters and the original development of the X-ray microscope but found his love of computers through it all. Hal met his beautiful wife Susan in Dalton, Massachusetts. They settled in Livingston in 1965. Hal’s greatest joys were his 3 children and 6 grandchildren. He could often be found with his children out on family bike rides, playing catch or frisbee out on the street or working in the yard on Crescent Road. Hal looked forward to family vacations in Maine and enjoyed boating on the lake. He loved attending all of the activities his children and grandchildren were involved in. Hal was predeceased by his beloved wife Susan Callahan McCornac. He is survived by his devoted children Michael (Debbie) McCornac, Lauren (Paul) Stephen and Carolyn McCornac and his loving grandchildren Christopher, Kevin, Thomas, Ryan, Kelly and Jessica.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Philomena Church 396 South Livingston Avenue Livingston, NJ, on Tuesday April 18, 2023 at 10 AM. The family will receive their friends at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Avenue Livingston, on Monday April 17, 2023 from 4-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter in East Hanover at www.NJShelter.org
