Irene was one of five members of her beloved family, including her mother (Hsiu-O Chao Hsu), her late father (Sho-Kai Hsu), her late brother (Jhen Hsu), her brother (Shan Hsu), and herself.
Irene met her husband, Chun-Kai Yang when they were in high school. Their love grew into a 37-year long partnership. Together, they built a beautiful family and were blessed with two sons, Andrew and Dylan Yang.
Irene studied Journalism in college and was part of the TV production team for a major TV channel. She worked in both Taiwan and China during the 4 years working in the media industry.
Irene had a natural magnetism that drew people to her. Her optimistic and loving personality spread warmth to those around her. She had an angel face and a bit of a mischievous sense of humor. Her expressions were especially memorable—often bringing laughter and smiles to the faces of those around her. Irene was our princess.
Even throughout her fight with illness, Irene continued to radiate tons of positivity. Irene’s optimism was reflected in how she lived her life. She had a strong desire for adventure and refused to let her illness define what she could do. She traveled to Canada, France, Japan, and back to Taiwan, even while experiencing discomfort from the treatment. She was a true warrior.
Irene had dreams, and she continued pedaling toward them, even when the journey became difficult and strenuous. Her courage, determination, and joy for life is an inspiration to everyone who knows her. The warmth of her spirit will always live in our hearts, and the memories we shared with her will remain with us forever.
The Prayer Service will be held on October 11 from 10 am to 12 pm.
