Jacqueline Mary Huber passed away Saturday, December 28, 2019, in her home surrounded by her family. She was 88 years old. Jackie was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on April 13, 1931 and was raised in Ohio, and later in Los Angeles, California by Edward Hermann and Marie Heil Hermann. After graduating from the Catholic Girl’s School of LA, she attended Mount Saint Mary’s in Los Angeles where she received her bachelor’s degree in English. During her time in Los Angeles, she met her future husband, Richard E. Huber, originally of Newark, NJ. The couple relocated to New Jersey and were married in Vailsburg. Her and her husband of 60 years, Richard started a family that would eventually include five children and five grandchildren.

After graduation, Jackie dedicated her early career to education serving as an elementary school teacher in Los Angeles, California and, later on, in New Jersey in the South Orange and Maplewood school systems. She was fondly remembered as a devoted mother and grandmother. She spent countless hours chauffeuring each of her children to their athletic practices, and attending numerous competitions and the occasional international meets. As the children grew, she re-entered the workforce in various capacities, spending the last 20 years of her career at Horizon Blue Cross-Blue Shield as a special claims adjuster. After retirement, she enjoyed spending time and caring for her grandchildren. Throughout her entire lifetime she was an avid reader and enjoyed spending many days at the beach.

Jacqueline was predeceased by her husband, Richard, and her son, Eric Jeffrey. She is survived by her children Richard, Jr., Kurt, Erika Mulreed and Wade, and her grandchildren Karl Huber, Aidan and Sarah Mulreed and Joseph and Ryan Huber.
