August 3, 1955 – October 2, 2020
Joseph Bolognini, age 65, of Livingston, NJ, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 2, 2020. After an eight year battle with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and most recently, complications from a stroke, Joe is finally at rest. A devoted husband and father, he is survived by his wife of 40 years, Deborah Ann (Rizzuto) and two daughters Alexandra and Kimberly, his son-in-law’s, Christian and Giuseppe and his two grandchildren due this month, Amelia Ann (Alexandra) and Liam Joseph (Kimberly). He is also survived by his mother Dorothy (Battista) and sister Maria (Kenneth), his sister-in-law’s, Cathy and Jackie and brother in law, Tony (Terri) as well as his 3 nieces and 5 nephews. He was welcomed into heaven by his father, Pasquale, who passed away exactly one month prior. Joe was born on August 3, 1955 in Newark, was raised in West Orange and resided in Livingston, NJ. Joe had a dedicated career at Automatic Switch Co. (Emerson) as a Lead Model Shop Technician where he met his wife, Debby. After 43 years at ASCO, Joe retired on December 31, 2019 and celebrated with his wife and daughters aboard a cruise ship. Joe loved to travel with his family, fish, spend quality time with his grand-puppy, Desmo and was deeply anticipating the arrival of his grandchildren. Joe enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He was extremely handy and creative, loved his daily routines, old television shows, sitting outside, classic cars and always loved a good hat. Joe and Debby’s devotion to each other set a prime example of a loving marriage. He was a proud father who always put his children first. Joe was kind, compassionate and never hesitated to help others. Everyone that knew him, loved him. Through all of Joe’s many health issues, he remained fearless, resilient and fought until the end. He was a true hero. Joe will forever be in our hearts and his legacy will live on forever. A memorial mass will be held at a later date, details to be confirmed. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joe’s name to St Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

I worked with Joe for 25+years at ASCO till his retirement. He was a kind, friendly person and of good character. And that is what is the most important thing in the end, he was good. Mission accomplished Joe. So sorry he wasn't able to get a little more time with his family and friends post retirement. He had struggled so hard to beat the cancer. He will be missed and in my memories. May his soul be bound in the bonds of life in the Bolognini family.

Dearest Debby,girls & family~
Jim & I were so sorry to hear the news of Joe's passing. We feel, the world is minus one really nice guy, and someone we cherished as a "longtime" friend. Asco brought the 4 of us together, and for that we will always be grateful.
There are so many nice memories Joe left us, and it is those memories that will help us heal from his loss.
The soon-to-be "new babies " coming, will give you & the girls the strength you all will need to get through this...babies bring "hope", and "Grandpop" may be in heaven, but his heart will ALWAYS be here with you, the girls and those 2 new precious little angels. I can't help thinking, he asked God to send them down to bring "smiles" and love back into your broken hearts.
Love you all~ God bless!
