

Karl W. Kosen, 92, passed away at the Schervier Pavilion, Warwick, NY, on Wednesday, March 11, 2015. His family will be receiving relatives and friends at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home of Livingston, 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Ave., on Friday, 4-8 PM. The Funeral Mass celebrating his life will be offered at St. Rose of Lima Church, 312 Ridgedale Ave., East Hanover, NJ 07936 on Saturday at 9:45AM and everyone is invited directly to the church. The committal service will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.
Karl was born in Union City and had lived in West Orange and Montague, NJ moving to the Schervier Pavilion in Warwick, NY three years ago. He served with honor and valor as a Tech Sergeant in the Air Force where he flew thirty missions in eighty-nine days in the Rhineland, Western Europe and Northern France and earned the Expert Aerial Gunner Medal, EAME Ribbon with four Bronze Stars, Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters and the Certificate of Valor that said: “It is an honor to give this testimonial of the performance of duty of Tech Sergeant Karl W. Kosen, Jr. who has completed an operational tour in the European Theater of Operations with this Group (44th Bombardment Group) and acquitted himself with valor. He made a notable contribution to the success of the Armed Forces of our Country”.
Predeceased by his beloved wife of sixty-five years,Louise (D’Annunzio) and his son Karl W. Kosen III, he is survived by his devoted daughter Regina Kosen Stewart, sons Joseph and John and their respective wives Marie and Peggy and daughter Julia Kosen Drago and her husband John. He was the much loved Boom-pa to his grandchildren: Kristin and Chris Collins, Alison and David D’Atrio, Melissa and David Carr, Christine and Cooper Schieffelin, Heather and Ash Morgan, Carly Kosen and Thomas and Erica Kosen and Lori, Katie and Karly Drago. He is also survived by by his great grandchildren: Amanda, Tyler and Jacob Collins, Jack and Grace Carr, Alexander and Nicholas Schieffelin, his dear sister Margurite Biasco and brother-in-law Joseph D’Annunzio.
