Liberato Russo age 86, of West Orange, NJ, passed away peacefully on Friday December 27, 2019. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church 103 S. Center Street Orange, NJ, on Friday January 3, 2020 at 10AM. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery E. Hanover, NJ. The family will receive family and friends at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Avenue Livingston on Thursday January 2, 2020 from 4-8 PM.

Liberato was born in Alberona, Italy to the late Donato and Caterina Patrizio Russo. He married his beloved Antonia Marino in 1957. Shortly after, he left her side to go work in Germany for two years. He immigrated with his family to the United States in 1973. Liberato was a self-employed carpenter and a member of the Alberonese Social Club in Orange, NJ. Along with his beloved wife, Antonia, Liberato spent his summers in Foggia, Italy with his dear family members, where his heart always remained. His hobbies included gardening, watching the RAI channel, and making homemade wine with his family. His greatest joy was family gatherings with his children, grandchildren and extended families.

Liberato is predeceased by his late wife Antonia Marino Russo and his sister Elena De Martinis. He is survived by his devoted children Caterina and her husband Benjamin Viscomi and Dr. Donato Russo and his wife Maria Russo. His loving grandchildren Angela Stefania and her husband Dante, Marcello Liberato, Marco Vito and his wife Marcella, Lee Matthew, Juliana Antonia and Sofia Amanda, and his great-grandchildren Giovanni and Alessandro.
