Lucia Rocchina Salese

Lucia Rocchina Salese (nee Marucci), 90, passed away at her residence in West Orange on Wednesday, December 6, 2017. The family will receive their family and friends on Friday, December 8 from 6-8 PM at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Avenue, Livingston, NJ. Funeral Mass will be offered on Saturday, December 9 at 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 103 S. Center Street, Orange, with entombment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.

Born in Italy, Lucia and her beloved husband, Leonardo, brought their young family to the United States in November, 1957 and settled in West Orange in 1964. They were devoted parishioners at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. She worked as a seamstress for many years, and loved to cook, bake, and tend to her garden. Her greatest passion, was spending time with her grandchildren.

Lucia was predeceased by her beloved husband, Leonardo. She is survived by her devoted children, Joseph Salese, M.D. and wife Maria, Nicola Salese and wife Nicholina, Rosa Saraceno and husband Libero, M.D.; her loving grandchildren, Leonardo Salese, M.D. and wife Catherine A., Esq., Lucia Boxer and husband Jason, Esq., Dr. Lea Mirabile and husband Joseph, Esq., Leonardo Salese and wife Gabriella, Nicola Salese, Jr., Antonio Salese and wife Michelle, Jessica M. Carroll, Esq and husband Brendan W., Esq. and Leonardo Saraceno, M.D. and wife Devin B. Eckstein, D.O. Lucia is also survived by her cherished great grandchildren, Carter Joseph Salese, Garrett Robert Salese, Robert Joseph Mirabile, Mia Lorn Maria Mirabile, Julius Jefferson Boxer, Arabella Summer Boxer, Angelina Lucia Salese, Gaetano Leonardo Salese, Castiel Salese, Parker William Carroll, and Thea Bari Saraceno.
