Marianne B. McCabe

Marianne was born and raised in Newark, NJ. She attended St . Patrick’s Grammar School and Our Lady of Good Counsel High School. Pursuing her artistic talent and passion, she attended Traphagen School of Fashion in New York.

She began her career at Seventeen Magazine, where she rose through the ranks to become their youngest Fashion Editor. During that time, she enjoyed spending her summers in Bay Head and Island Heights, NJ.

She married John Patrick in 1964 moved to Livingston, NJ where they lived and raised family for about 20 years. Then moved to Island Heights and then Toms River, NJ.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years John Patrick, son, John Michael, daughter Elizabeth McCabe (Chris Nelson) and grandson, Asher Nelson. In addition to her immediate family, she is survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, god daughters and very close lifelong friends who she also considered her family.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, from 4-8pm at Quinn Hopping Funeral Home, 145 E. Mount Pleasant Ave., Livingston, NJ. A funeral mass will take place on Thursday, May 18, 2023, at 11am at St. Philomena's R.C. Church, 386 S. Livingston Ave., Livingston, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Marianne's name can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
