Marie Miele Marucci

Marie Miele Marucci, 95, passed away on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 in West Orange, NJ. Born in East Orange, NJ, Marie resided in West Orange since 1930 and attended Beards School. She later graduated from St. Elizabeth’s Academy where she was awarded a gold medal for loyalty and service. She later attended and graduated from Georgian Court College and earned a B.S. While at Georgian Court, Marie acted as the Business Officer for four years, served as Vice President of the Glee Club, and was an editor of the newspaper. In 1986, she and her husband, Dr. Marucci, were honored by the Augustinian Recollect Fathers at a special ceremony.

Marie was predeceased by her beloved husband, Dr. Horace Marucci. She leaves her daughter, Cathy DiMartino and her husband Patrick, and her grandson Patrick Horace. Marie was a friend to all that knew her.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 28 from 4-8 PM at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Avenue, Livingston, NJ. Funeral Mass will be offered on Friday, September 29 at 10AM at St. Joseph’s Church, West Orange, with interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marie’s name may be made to Marie & Horace Marucci Rutgers Fund, Rutgers University, 7 College Avenue, New Brunswick, NJ 08901.
