

Marie Mosso (nee: Pietropinto) ,80, passed away at her West Orange home on July 13 surrounded by her loving family following a valiant battle with cancer. Visitation will be at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home of Livingston, 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Ave., on Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday at St. Joseph’s Church, West Orange, at 10 AM. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.
Marie was born in the Orange Valley in 1934 and was a resident of West Orange for 50 years. She worked as an executive secretary at Knoll Pharmaceuticals, in Human Resources at Macys and was a homemaker. Marie enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and had a passion for baking and cooking. Her specialties included homemade manicotti, eggplant, cookies and blueberry pie! Marie was a sassy woman with a zest for life and was known for her ease in frequent conversation with even total strangers. Marie also had many hobbies including gardening, crafting and decorating.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband Gabriel of 53 years in 2009, her parents Nicola and Vincenza Pietropinto, and her sister Lucille Grabowski. She is survived by her devoted children: Joseph Mosso of Naperville, IL, Marie Rosato and husband Tony of Randolph, Nick Mosso and wife Jacqueline of Chester and Michael Mosso of Hoboken. She will be missed by her grandchildren Joelle and Sara Gabet, Matthew and Madeline Mosso, Elizabeth Rosato, Dominic and Vincent Mosso, her sisters Grace Pietropinto of West Orange and Ann Pietropinto of New Hope, PA, sister-in-law Sue Mosso of Miami Florida and her many nieces and nephews.
