Marie was born in East Orange, NJ on October 1, 1933, to Francesco and Chiara (Nutsi) DeNicolo. She attended local schools and graduated from East Orange High School in 1950, where she was elected Best Dancer in her graduating class. After graduation, she was employed by the Prudential Insurance Company in Newark, NJ, until her marriage to her high school sweetheart and soulmate Nicholas A. Stabile in 1954. They resided in Livingston, where they raised their family before relocating to Glastonbury in 2012.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of nearly 62 years Nicholas, and brother Vito. She is survived by her son, Nicholas Jr.; her daughter, Carol; her son-in-law, Richard Rego; her cherished granddaughters, Chiara and Liana; her adoring nieces, Elaine and Rosanne; Phyllis; and her nephew, Anthony.
Marie was devoted to her husband and family, and enjoyed spending many summers at the Jersey Shore with her parents, husband, and children. She especially loved music and dancing and celebrated her 65th birthday memorably by attending a Tony Bennett concert at Radio City Music Hall. Marie had a tenacious personality and fighting spirit that allowed her to overcome every hardship she faced, right up until the very end. She cared deeply about animals, especially the family beagle Ginger, her shelties Champagne and Trevor, her parakeets Petie and Penny, and numerous granddogs.
Marie’s family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the nurses and staff of Buckingham Heights, and the therapists and nurses from Atrinity Home Health for their care and dedication to her well-being.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Visitation on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Quinn Hopping Funeral Home, 145 East Mount Pleasant Ave, Livingston, NJ 07039.
