

Mario Luis Rente 91 of Bradenton, Florida (formerly of Bloomfield, NJ) passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on September 11, 2024. Mario was born in Havana Cuba and was preceded in death by his loving wife of 70 years Esperanza Rente and his dotting daughter-in-law Barbara Jean Rente.
Mario worked for Ivers Lee/Becton Dickinson Pharmaceutical Company for 27 years as a machinist and later became Supervisor of the night shift. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and through his lifetime of service to the Knights he held the titles of Grand Knight of Council 6196 of Our Lady of Perpetual Help; Faithful Navigator; District Deputy and in 2007, 2008 and 2009 was named the Color Corp Commander for the State of New Jersey. He was involved in his church St. Francis Xavier in Newark, NJ and became a Eucharistic Minister.
Mario was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He was an avid model builder, with a particular love of building model airplanes and flying them. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife and family. He was the heart and soul of his family, and his legacy of love and humor lives on in the hearts of his family and friends.
He leaves behind a large and loving family: Luis Rente, Beatriz and her husband Antonio Sampedro, George Rente and his wife Diane, Joseph Rente and his wife Laura, Mario Rente and his wife Kim; 12 grandchildren and 5 greatgrandchildren.
Visitation will be at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 145 E. Mount Pleasant Avenue, Livingston, NJ 07039 on Thursday, September 19 from 4-8 PM. Church services will be held at St. Philomena Roman Catholic Church, 386 South Livingston Avenue, Livingston, NJ 07039 on Friday, September 20 at 10 AM followed by graveside ceremony at Locust Hill Cemetery, 168 N. Sussex Street, Dover, NJ 07801.
In lieu of flowers contributions in his memory can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
