Marlene M. Paglianite, 83, of Livingston, passed away on Monday, July 1 in Livingston, NJ. Born in Newark, Marlene resided in Livingston from 1968 to 2002. While moving to Whitehouse Station for several years, she currently has resided in Roseland for the past 11 years, until her passing.
Marlene is survived by her beloved husband of 63 years, Henry. She is also survived by her loving children and their spouses Samuel (Deborah), Richard (Patrizia), and Gregory (April), her adoring grandchildren Vaughn, Reece, Giuliana, Valentina, Dean Snook, Danielle DeGroat, and Derek Slate, her great-grandchildren Dylan and Gabriella Snook, as well as her brother Edward Tronio (Yolanda).
Marlene was a graduate of Bloomfield High School, and later from Farleigh Dickenson University, where she obtained a license as a Dental Hygienist. She later worked and was well respected in that profession for many years. While raising her family in Livingston, she also worked as a Pre-School teacher at the Livingston Episcopal Church. She was a parishioner at St. Raphael’s R/C Church where she was an active member of the Rosary Society, and also frequently lead and participated in numerous charity and fund raising events. When returning to the Livingston area, and residing in Roseland, she became parishioner at St. Philomena’s R/C Church. She had a love for children, her family and embraced life with exuberance.
Her strong will and determination enabled her to survive and fully recover from a debilitating stroke in 2015, and later survived cancer in 2017. She was unfortunately overcome by returning cancer in 2019 which led to her passing. Those who came to know her were blessed by her unselfish kindness and caring. She was a role model to many she come in contact with, and will be profoundly missed by all.
Funeral mass will be offered on Monday, July 8 at 10:30AM at St. Philomena’s Church, Livingston. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, Livingston. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marlene’s name may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
