Nora was a devout woman. She loved the Lord Jesus, her husband and two boys deeply. Her favorite prayer was, "Father, watch over my sons," which you could hear out loud at any moment. She spent up to two hours daily devoted to prayer, Bible reading and inspirational reading. She loved her church (St. Mary Armenian in Livingston, NJ), and it broke her heart the morning aches and pains kept her from attending the last couple years of her life.
She was the ultimate homemaker and quite happy and proud to be so. She truly believed the way to man's heart was through his stomach, and she studied, mastered and prepared various types of cuisine with always beautiful presentation, especially Mediterranean. Nobody made better hummus, lentil soup, stuffed grape leaves, dolma and (her once priest's favorite) chi-kufta.
Nora opened hearts and drew people in with her gleaming and welcoming smile and she lit up in the presence of children (especially babies!), especially prizing a good hug. She also loved dogs (especially puppies), as long as she didn't have to clean up after them! She loved saying to anyone she interacted with, "Have a blessed day!"
We are convinced she lives on inexpressibly joyful in heaven praying for others to come to the faith that gave her and her family such hope throughout her blessed and beautiful life. In her memory, she would want you to open the Bible, as she did, and read John 14 or Psalm 23 for a special message and then talk to the Lord, as she would freely and daily. The Lord bless you richly for taking this moment to read about Mrs. Nora Takvorian - beautiful and beloved wife, mother and child of God.
