

Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, April 30, 2015 from 4 to 8pm at the Quinn Hopping Funeral Home of Livingston (NJ), 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Ave. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10AM on Saturday, May 2 at St. Joseph Church, 44 Benvenue Ave., West Orange, N. J. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, N.J.
Olga, born in Newark, N.J. to parents of Italian immigrant roots, was given a Russian first name because of the ethnicity of her neighborhood.
She graduated from West Side High School in Newark and from what is now the defunct Berkeley Secretarial School in East Orange, N.J. She then earned a B.S. degree in social studies at Seton Hall University. After a stint at Holmes Oil Company, she joined Exxon where she spent most of her working career as an executive assistant. She retired from Exxon more than two decades ago.
Olga was active in her community for years, serving as a member of St. Joseph’s Rosary Altar Society, St. Augustine Recollect in West Orange, N.J. , and the West Orange Women’s Club. She also was a member of the North Central Jersey Exxon Annuitant Club and also volunteered as a counselor for the State Health Insurance Program in Essex County.
Olga was also an active golfer and bowler. She was
a passionate overseas traveler, enjoying trips with family and friends. Olga was an avid reader and until earlier this year completed either The Star Ledger or The New York Times crossword puzzle every day.
But it was her family that she was most passionate about. Olga was a fixture at every family gathering, including baptisms, communions, high school and college graduations and weddings. She was the beloved sister of Grace Blauvelt of Wall Township, Marie D’Innocenzio of Berkeley Heights, N.J. and Anita Iannacone of Basking Ridge,N.J. She was also the loving aunt of three nieces and four nephews. Olga was predeceased by her dear brother Victor Tedeschi also of West Orange, N. J. , who passed away nine years ago on the same day.
Olga’s kind spirit, her generosity and her gentle loving ways will be missed.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Olga’s memory to VITAS Community Connection, 70 South Orange Avenue, Suite 210, Livingston, N.J. 07039 will be greatly appreciated by her family.
