

Rita Barry Williams Gannon, age 101, of Toms River, NJ, formerly of Livingston, NJ, passed away peacefully on Tuesday September 13, 2016. A visitation will be held at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Avenue Livingston, NJ, tomorrow Monday September 19, 2016 from 9:30 to 10:30 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Raphael Church 346 E. Mt. Pleasant Avenue Livingston, NJ, at 11 AM, followed by committal prayers at Gate of Heaven Cemetery E. Hanover, NJ. Rita was predeceased by her first husband James Williams who died during WWII and later George Gannon, her daughter Geraldine Gannon and her beloved granddaughter Erin Donnelly. She is survived by her devoted daughter Patricia Gannon Donnelly and her husband Kevin Donnelly and her loving grandsons Sean and Kevin Donnelly Jr. Born in East Orange, NJ, Rita lived in Livingston, NJ, for 59 years, during which time she belonged to St. Raphael’s Catholic Church Rosary Society and Senior Group, Girl Scouts, Historical Society and Livingston Women’s Club. Her chief interest was family and friends. She was a very inclusive person, always ready with a smile and a hello. Even at her last residence Magnolia Gardens, Toms River, she wanted to know everyone’s name and then remembered it.
