Bob, Mom, Dad, and Don,
There is a place within my heart, that is with me everyday, a place where all my memories are softly tucked away. It is a the perfect place at special times for me to go, for no words could ever explain how much I miss you 💔 so.
Now that once again Christmas time has come around, it's where the sweetest memories and thoughts of you are found.
So I'll try to put aside my sorrow with unshed tears and concentrate on all the joys we shared when you where all here.

I'm so sad to find that Bob is gone. I worked with him many years ago and we lost touch.  I knew him during a hard time in my life and he made my days so much better. He had great stories that made me laugh, introduced me to tons of music that I still listen to today. He spoke so lovingly of his family. He was a really bright light. I see people are still writing notes even this year. I'm sorry I'm late but to whoever reads this and is mourning just know that I am one more person to share in your sadness. I'm really glad I knew him.

Today marks your first year in Heaven and since that day you had to go, the memories I treasure are within the tears I flow, for no one knows what your loss means to me. They say that time heals a broken heart, but as we approach this beautiful Easter Celebration, I still feel the lose and think back to our yesterdays, when we where all together at Mom and Dad's house. I can still smell Mom's gravy and taste "her out of this world's meatballs"..."God loves Phoof's meatballs". I also recall the homemade raviolis Mom made with just love. ..nothing will ever compare to that.  I Prayer on this Holy Saturday that you Bob and Don are reunited and spending your first Easter in Heaven with Mom and Dad.
This is a time of new beginnings and God Bless a new journey for all of you.

I think about you always, as I talk about you still, and hold you both with in my heart, for we are never far apart. 
Two months ago, for you Bob, and eight months for Don, and the heartache of losing you both remains. 
As the snow fell yesterday, memories come to mind as I remember the years gone by, with much love and laughter, and the crazy antics of our fun in the snow. Marshall Street was a playground for our neighborhood "family", sleigh riding down the street from top to bottom.  Sometimes to play it safe, we went down through all the backyards, starting with ours. We also did some sneaking to go down the big hill at Mountain High School...thinking mom would not know...but she did, waiting with hot chocolate when we got home. 
As I struggle to move on, it truly is so hard being with thoughts of all the precious memories and love we shared, but they remain within my heart, as I try and picture you full of life and love watching from above.
I love you both eternally, and I will hold you in my heart, reminding me even though we are apart, your spirit is always with me forever in my heart.

They say that memories are golden, and yesterday as we all came together in celebration of the lives of my brothers Bobby and Don to bid them a Blessed journey, I will forever hold so dearly the Love and beautiful Tribute for them.  You all have touched Bobby's life in one way or another, and I know he's surely smiling and feeling the love.
As the morning arose today, and thoughts of those who gathered at Mass, the grave site, and the repass, no words can express my heartfelt thanks.  The stories of our memories of Bobby, which brought us laughter as well as tears, shows the bond that can never be broken.
As I begin to heal from this incredible heartache, I will forever cherish the Love that filled the day. As we all go forward with our lives, please remember that Bobby's spirit will always live on in each of us, wherever we may go. 
You'll always be in my heart and your memory will live on forever and I know we live on forever with you.

Saying goodbye is never easy. We gathered today to do that for Bobby. There were hugs, tears, stories and laughter today as we spoke about him. Bobby will be missed,  but he lives on in all of us who were fortunate to be his family or friend. 
I love you, Bobby. Thank you for being my friend. ❤️

Bob lived at 9 Marshall Street (if I remember correctly) and I lived around the corner from him on Conforti Avenue. Bob was a school-mate of mine who kept me laughing constantly.  I can vividly recall him in Mrs. Gertrude Gawe's class with that mega personality of his and his ginormous smile of his as we drove the poor teacher crazy.

I will always remember Bobby fondly.  He was a good man and I feel sorrow because he was taken from his family (and friends) and this earth entirely too early. I suppose God had another plan for him as He does with all of us.

Bob's passing should be in part a celebration of like as we are taught that the body ceases to exist but the soul enters into a better place and "lives forever" in eternal peace.

May the memory of Bobby be eternal...



 I met Bobby when I was 12 playing Little League  baseball together (can that really be 50 years ago?!?). We had an immediate bond, which lasted a lifetime. In retrospect, I think Bobby was an aspiring artist trapped in the body of a handsome athlete, with a 1000 watt smile that could light up any room.
    I feel fortunate to have followed Bobby on all of his artistic adventures, as many of his interests and observations helped inform my own views. His musical taste was sublime – he appreciated words and phrasing as much as the music, which helped his career when he got to Columbia House. I think all of his friends have an album or two stuck in their heads forever thanks to Bobby’s passion in this area. 
    His interest in art was strong as well, but decreased somewhat after his time at Wentworth Galleries. I visited him at the store often, but he got increasingly jaded by the commercialism that drove that industry. His true love, I believe, was the written word. 
   He was a voracious reader and writer, and a great teacher. I was thrilled when Bobby started sending me his short stories and asking for feedback. His writing was truly wonderful – his humor and sensitivity was evident, as was his love for word play. But there was a darkness there that was a foreshadowing of what was to come. 
    We all really “lost” Bobby years ago, but the finality of his death was like a slap in the face. He was such a good friend, and meant so much to so many people, which was evident in how many of his childhood friends reached out to try to help him when he needed it.  In the end,  we weren’t able to, but there is some comfort that a real effort was made.   
    My entire family will miss him, and our heart goes out to his remaining family. May he RIP.  

Bobby will always be our precious friend, uncle to our twin girls Jenna & Jessie, and the life of all our gatherings.    He spent weeks with us on the farm over the years helping Pete with Christmas tree pruning and entertaining the girls. Many a Christmas morning was spent singing, talking, dancing doing the Bobby,Bobby Bobby shake your Booty dance.   Our hours of conversation were deep and never boring. 
I miss you my dear friend…until we meet again…. Last night you became a great uncle to Jessie’s baby girl Anderson Larkin…  I’m sorry I can’t be there to celebrate your precious life but a day doesn’t go by without thoughts of you… Forever in our hearts…

First, I offer Richard, Rose and family my heartfelt condolences. My history with Bobby began when I met him at our ten year high school reunion. We became a couple soon after and dated for five years. Through those years, I hold close many precious memories. After, we remained friends and in each other's lives. The Bobby I knew was caring and thoughtful - putting time, love and effort into the little things that mattered. He was adventurous, but protective. He had a quick sense of humor - corny jokes, doodles in cards he sent, made up characters. He was handsome - not vain - with  that killer smile. He had a big heart - those he loved knew it. Bobby was the best hugger. When he wrapped his arms around you, you felt cared for, loved, safe and happy all at once. No words required. A true gift.                                                                     Rest easy, Bobby. Make the Angels laugh. Give out your hugs. Be at peace. Know you are loved.

I feel very fortunate to have grown up on the same street with Dear Bobby and your entire family! I am so sorry for your lose. He was a soul without a mean bone in his body, and very very handsome!
My brain can’t get a handle on the idea that he is gone! 
I was astonished by his ability to read aloud. 
My mother would say to me, “ you need to be able to read like Bobby.” I couldn’t! He was the best!

I heard American Pie on the radio the other day, and my thoughts turned  to Bob.  The song prompted a fifty year old memory: one winter morning Bob invited me to go to Korvettes with two of his friends, Joey and Tommy.  Bob’s dad took us to the record department, where each of us bought the single.  I hadn’t heard of the song and had no clue what a phenomenon it was. 
A very excited Bob filled me in during the car ride.  That was one of the characteristics of our friendship: he usually educated me about the latest in sports, music, entertainment, and of course, jokes.  To stay on top of the culture, it helps to have older siblings.  Bob did and I didn’t.   
Bob loved to teach.  He quickly transferred his passion for the song's mysterious lyrics to me.  Hearing them again brought all that back.
Bob,  you were a great teacher. 

I SPELLED MY NAME WRONG!!!  He made me do that. 


Friends, real friends are a blessing. Knowing you can trust someone unconditionally is rare. Bobby was that kind of friend. People may forget what you’ve said, they may forget what you’ve done, but they will never forget how you made them feel. I am forever grateful that he was a significant part of my life.

So sad to hear this horrible news , Bobby. Had a heart of gold , always in a good mood , free spirt always with a smile on his face . Met Bobby as a young boy down at Vincent pond where we played little league baseball  , he was good player I was not very good ….Then  we started school  at Lincoln  7th grade we  played football for Lincoln  in 9th grade  we had a blast . He was a very good player .. at the time in high school he had the greatest stero equipment in his room we would go and listen ,,Bobby loved his music . He was a great fisherman also .  Few years After high school , Bobby and me took off for lake George  upstate , We loaded up the car got pulled over for speeding at the bottom of woodland and pleasant Valley way .didn’t even make it outta town . We told the cop what  where we were going and he let us off ,and said slow down . Rained all the  way up 4 hrs  got to lake George about 7 pm stopped raining  sun came out and  we both watched  the most beautiful rainbow over the lake we ever saw . We fished camped  got loaded  around the fire  slept in a tent for 4 nights came home broke   Had a blast ,, one of my fondest fishing memories thanks to Bobby ,  I was lucky enough to be at his surprize 40th  birthday  party in nyc ..you couldn’t help but love Bobby he was a great guy, salt of the earth . He will live in my heart forever ,.. 

Bobby. I still can’t believe you’re gone.  So many happy, fun memories, the jersey shore, “the park”, high school games, and partners at the Laszlo wedding.  Fly high my friend, heaven has gained an angel.  Your smile will always be remembered

As memories of Christmas past flow within our hearts, we are holding on and cherishing the joy we had in our childhood. On Christmas morning, there would be the sound of music blasting of Elvis Presley's Christmas Hits. This was courtesy of our brother Don. 
Bobby and Don, whose bedrooms where upstairs, would come down dancing and swinging to the beat. This was such a joyous and fun filled moment as our Christmas Day began. Now this Christmas our hearts are broken with the loss of both our brothers and we are Praying that God's Love and Mercy, and our Faith will guide us through our time of sorrow.

Really sorry to hear about this.  I lived on Barry Drive and always was part of the group of kids from Holmes Street, Phyillis Road, and Marshall Street.  When I was about 12-years-old Bobby and I were good friends. We played games and while I couldn't match him athletically, he always included me in the games. Bobby was a year behind me in school but we remained friends. I'd see him when I went to The Bagel Box and after I left WO in 1981 my father would always see him and talk to him.  Bobby always wanted to know how I was doing and my father let me know how Bobby was doing.  I last talked to him in about 1982 but as we all know, he was a very kind and caring person always interested in others.  This is indeed sad news.       Jeff Passner

As Bobby's "little big sister" as he affectionately called me, I wish to express my sincere thanks for all who are sharing your beautiful and cherished memories of my brother. Bobby was a beautiful soul with such devotion to all who had the honor of being in his life.  Bobby had a warm heart as big and bright as his incredible smile. My memories of Bobby go beyond the pages set forth. Bobby's great personality and friendliness began as a toddler. Our family nicknamed Bobby as the mayor of Marshal Street, because he new every neighbor by name, and would call out to them and wave until they acknowledge him. This was the beginning of the man he became. Bobby and I also had this special habit of sharing our dreams we had each night, which eventually inspired him to write his short stories.  This of course this led Bobby to eventually become a Professor in English Literature. Bobby made a strong impact to all his students, as he guided them with such devotion and he always made time for anyone of them that needed help. 
Now as this Christmas season approaches us, and any Holiday you hold in your heart, I hope you may have an opportunity to watch  Bobby's favorite movie "It's a Wonderful Life". I know that Bobby will be beaming and his smile will shine brighter then the sun.

I met Bob at a gig of one of our close mutual friends, Ray Andersen.  We both grew up in West Orange, and wondered how we hadn’t met sooner! We hit it off immediately, and became very close friends for 30+ years. We shared a number of interests: music, books, movies, corny humor. We would have long philosophical conversations, the likes of which I’ve had with few people. Bob was a special person; sincere, caring, generous, thoughtful, talented. He had one of the brightest smiles of anyone I’ve ever known…a smile that showed the brightness of his spirit; of his soul. Over the years we created many wonderful memories; concerts, parties, deep & inspiring conversations. And now, these memories will help me get through these coming days and weeks, as I try to deal with this loss. He was a dear friend, and I will miss him dearly.

I was so sad to receive the news from Andy Katz that Bob had passed away. Bob & I started working at Columbia House the same week in 1988 and clicked instantly. We continued to work together for over 10 years. That special era was when a large, creative group of very comical people happened to come together and become a family of friends. We were actually paid to listen to music, go to concerts & movies. After work we either played on the company softball team, or hung out at Rudy's to shoot pool mixing with a cast of NYC characters. Those carefree days were pure fun. For someone that was so easy on the eyes, Bob was humble, caring and kind. He was a music buff, who spent hours creating thoughtful mixed tapes. The Jayhawks, Paul Weller, Neil Finn, Benfolds Five, Nick Drake, Bruce Cockburn, Tom Waitts and Richie Haven's, were just a few of his favorites. He was a writer, actor and a good cook with a great sense of humor. One night he called to say he made too many meatballs and sauce and wanted to share them. Bobby was always so generous. I put on some pasta and made a salad. He drove very slowly from NJ to NYC with that tall pot strapped into the passenger seat. That was a memorable meal, because we became a couple after that. There are so many good memories, but the most special of all was pulling off his surprise 40th birthday party. He was so touched to see his family and so many of his old friends come together to celebrate his milestone year. For all of us he touched, we now celebrate his life. I will always remember us singing & swaying to, "Don't Dream It's Over," when we saw Crowded House at Irving Plaza. Hard to believe his life is over and was cut short way too soon. May he Rest in Eternal Peace and Stay Forever in Our Hearts. Nancy❤️

As Bobby's brother, I would like to thank everyone sharing their memories of him, especially pertaining to events in his life that I had no way of knowing. At 15 years his senior, at times he would call me "Big Bro" and I would call him "Lil Bro". Among the countless memories of him, one would be going to all his football games along with our father and proudly watch number 44 perform on the field along with his teamates, who, by the way, remained close friends these past years. In this time of sorrow, I would like to end with one encouraging saying I heard years ago. . . . God saw him getting tired, a cure not meant to be, so He put His arms around him and whispered "Come with Me"

Bobby was a natural comedian and a gifted mimic.  I met him in first grade, and from that time forward he made me and so many others smile and laugh.  Jonathan Winters, Fat Albert, Jimmy Walker -- who couldn't Bobby impersonate? 
He was a great athlete too, a strong and speedy football and baseball player.  On the fields of Pleasantdale no one could catch him when we played ringolevio.  He dodged and cut and sidestepped the whole fifth grade, laughing as he led us on a fruitless chase.  
But no one outruns Death.

I talked to Bobby for hours at the second reunion - -he had so much to offer and share-we connected on so many levels-Bobby made the world laugh growing up- in elementary school he wore the clothes like the Steve Martin wild and crazy guy and brought smiles to all who knew him… always loved him - kind, caring, interesting and talented. Bobby you will be missed-

I hadn't seen Bobby since high school, but I remember him fondly as a great guy, with a good sense of humor and always a smile for you. My sincere sympathies to his family. He left us much too soon. I wish him eternal peace. 

I first met Bobby in junior high school, He was a great kid who  always had time to talk with me, He had a great knowledge of music and for bands I never heard of, as we became better freind's he would share  these bands with me and got me listening to music that wasn't mainstream , I'll always think of Bobby when I hear Procol Harum, Mott The Hoople or Grand Funk Railroad, RIP Bob and thanks for the music

So, I started High School.  I had a terrible time opening the lock on my locker each day.  My Next door neighbor asked to help.  He dialed in my combination and opened my locker.  Fast forward to week two, and my locker was opened with Bobby standing next to it.  This continued throughout the year.  We became friends and I actually met my husband through our friendship.  He was the Best Man at my wedding.  He stood for Nick, but he also stood for me!  He is so sadly missed!
