

Robert was a long time resident of Livingston, NJ. He was born on February 4, 1957 in Orange, NJ to parents, Angelo and Catherine Saverino. He graduated from Vailsburg High School in 1975 and continued his education by pursuing coursework at Montclair State University. Robert went on to establish a career as a union carpenter, working for the Eastern Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters for over 33 years.
Robert was a die hard fan of the New York Yankees and the New York Giants, never missing the opportunity to watch a game. He was also an avid watcher of horse racing and could often be found studying the sports section of the newspaper. He loved to travel and frequented the beaches of the Jersey shore each summer. He was well read and spent much of his free time working on home renovation projects. He was a family man who loved life and always had a joke or wise words of encouragement for anyone in his company. Robert was also a man of faith and a generous contributor to the church and other charitable organizations.
Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Gaetinina (Cathy); as well as his parents, Angelo and Catherine.
Robert is survived by his sons, Robert Jr. and Christopher; as well as his sisters, Linda Saverino and Donna Mahony.
A viewing is scheduled for Thursday, August 13, 2026 from 4-8pm at Quinn Hopping Funeral Home in Livingston. A funeral mass will be held at St. Raphael’s Church at 10am Friday, August 14 followed by an interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery & Mausoleum in East Hanover.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
