Rocco J. Barbella, Jr., 84, died Monday, April 8, 2013, at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston. His family will receive friends at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home of Livingston on Friday, April 12, 4-9 PM. The Funeral Mass celebrating his life will be offered at St. Raphael’s Church, 346 E. Mt. Pleasant Ave., Livingston, at 12 noon followed by the committal service at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Livingston First Aid Squad, 65 S. Livingston Ave., Livingston, NJ 07039.
Born in Bloomfield, Rocco lived in Kenilworth before moving to Livingston forty-five years ago. He was a Navy veteran who received the World War II Victory Medal. Rocco retired as a millwright with Rapistan Conveyors, Piscataway, after many years.
Predeceased by his sister Mary Ricci, he is survived by his children, Jeanine Breen, husband Daniel and their son Ryan, Robert, Ronald J. and wife Deborah A. and their children Samantha, Carly and Anthony and Thomas and wife Deborah P. and their children Madison and Thomas, Jr.; his former wife Josephine Weller, his brother Joseph and wife Anne and many loving nieces and nephews and their families.
