

Rosemarie Guzzo (nee Detore), passed away on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 in Morristown, NJ. Born in East Orange, Rosemarie resided in Orange and Roseland, before settling in Chester for many years. She was a proud graduate of All Souls Hospital School of Nursing, and obtained a post graduate certification in pediatric nursing. During her 50 year career as a nurse, she helped predominantly underserved and inner city patients, most of which were children. She traveled throughout the country with the Children’s Healthcare Mobile Unit, learning techniques and procedures that were being used in other areas, with the goal of bringing them back to New Jersey to help her patients.
Rosemarie was also a former Orange Democratic County Committee member, and was a member of the Orange Health Advisory Board. She also had a love for animals and devoted a lot of time and resources into fostering, adopting, and donating to many shelters in the area. Rosemarie was also proud to have been a team leader for Relay for Life walk-a-thon, to support people with cancer.
Rosemarie was predeceased by her parents, John and Mary Detore (nee Curcione), her beloved husband, Patrick, as well as her niece Ava Detore, and great-nephew Alex Detore. She is survived by her loving brothers, John Detore and Robert Detore; her nieces and nephews, John Detore, Donna Houshmand, Andrew Detore, Tessia Detore, as well as many loving cousins and friends who will miss her dearly.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 10 from 2-6 PM at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, Livingston. Funeral mass will be offered on Monday, April 11 at 10AM at St. Rose of Lima Church, East Hanover, with interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rosemarie’s name may be made to the Eleventh Hour Animal Shelter, Randolph, NJ.
