Ruth A. Celebre, 94, of Long Valley passed away on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 8, 2016 at Hackettstown Medical Center. Born in New York City, Ruth spent most of her life in Livingston before moving to Long Valley, NJ. Ruth worked for many years as a school secretary in the Livingston School District as well as Newark Academy.
Ruth is survived by her loving husband, Ralph. She is also survived by her six children Jane Clausen, Christine Filip, Dr. Louis Celebre, Ralph Celebre Jr., all of New Jersey, her 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 12 from 3-7PM at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Avenue, Livingston. Funeral mass will be held on Friday, May 13 at 10AM at St. Philomena’s Church, Livingston. Cremation will be private. The family has suggested that memorial contributions be made to Compassionate Care Hospice 350 Sparta Avenue, Building B, Suite 2, Sparta, NJ 07871.
