Ruth N. De Morais

Born on January 22, 1931, in Newark, New Jersey, Ruth was the beloved daughter of Antonio and Ramona (Rio) Torrinhas. She spent her early years in Newark before making Livingston her home in 2016, where she continued to bring warmth and joy to all who knew her.

Ruth lived a full and vibrant life centered on family, love, and laughter. She delighted in gathering her loved ones around the table for Sunday meals. She enjoyed trips to the casino, spending time at the beach, dancing, and embracing the beauty of the outdoors. Her kind heart, gentle humor, and zest for life left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband of 32 years, Joaquim De Morais; her daughter, Ruth De Morais; her brother, Antonio Torrinhas Jr.; and her sister, Mary Pereira.

She is lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her children, Jack De Morais, Mary (David) Machette, and Denise (Sean) Mazzariello; her grandchildren, Jessica (Rusty) and Nicole; her great-grandchildren, Lucas and Adelynn; as well as her nieces, Mary and Rosangela, and nephews, Robert and George.

A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, from 10:00am - 12:00pm, at Quinn Hopping Funeral Home, 145 East Mount Pleasant Ave, Livingston, NJ 07039, with a Funeral Service to follow at 12:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, a cause close to Ruth's heart.
