Thomas H. Kenney Obituary
Beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather Thomas H. Kenney, was born on May 9, 1937, of Livingston, N.J., passed away on July 31, 2022.
A Family Man and Union Man. Born in Newark, NJ. Tom raised his family in South Orange and in Livingston, N.J. His wife of 62 years (Nancy) survives him. He is also survived by five children: Linda Budesa and her partner Bill Miicke, Lorraine Spiotta and husband Thomas, Thomas Kenney, Jr., Kevin Kenney and his wife Melanie, Lisa Navarro and husband Dave. Twelve Grandchildren: Patrick Budesa and his wife Cami, Kaitlin Budesa, Thomas Spiotta III, Sean Kenney, Michael Spiotta, Erin Kenney, Owen Kenney, Brandon Kenney, Ryan Kenney, Alexandra Navarro, Quinn Navarro and Jesse Navarro and a great-grandchild Sophia Budesa.
Tom loved his family, his Irish heritage and dedication to Union workers defined him. As Vice President and Business Agent for Local 68 he was given the responsibility to negotiate fair contracts for the members he represented to provide them and their families a better state of life. In addition, he served as Grand Knight for the South Orange Knights of Columbus, Chairman of the Board for Cooperation of Political Education, secretary and treasurer for Essex/West Hudson Labor Council.
Retired for over 20 years he enjoyed traveling, Florida in the winter and Avon by The Sea in the summer.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 2nd from 3-7 p.m. at Quinn Hopping Funeral Home, 145 E. Mount Pleasant Ave, Livingston. The funeral mass will be Wednesday, August 3rd 10:00 a.m. at Saint Philomena’s Livingston, with burial at Gate of Heaven, East Hanover.
