

Alan Leroy Seaman, born May 9, 1931 in Bayville, LI, NY to Leroy Seaman and Kate Gage Seaman. He died in Mesa, AZ on December 26, 2021 at the age of 90. He graduated from Oyster Bay High School in 1949 and attended Colorado State College of Education (now UNC) in 1949-50.
With the name of Seaman, he felt he should enlist in the US Navy when the Korean war began. He served aboard the USS Cony DDE-508 from 1950-54. He was employed by IBM in Poughkeepsie, NY in April, 1955. Alan married Marjorie Croshier in Poughkeepsie on October 19, 1958. They had two sons, David and Dan. Alan transferred to Boulder, CO in 1966 and the family moved to Longmont, CO.
Alan retired from IBM in 1990 and he and Marjorie began traveling, visiting all 50 states and many foreign countries. RVing took them to Apache Jct. AZ where they have wintered since 1996. Woodworking was his passion and he loved to give away the items he made.
Alan was preceded in death by his parents and older sisters Jacqueline Gregory and Judith Savage. Surviving are wife Marjorie, son David (Kathy), granddaughters Lauryn, Alexa and step-granddaughter Jordyn and her son Stetson; son Dan (Diane) and grandson Andrew. He was a member of the Longmont Kiwanis Club, the St. Vrain Masonic Lodge No. 0023, the American Legion, and the IBM Quarter Century Club.
