
Ali Noori Hussain Alyaseri , 61, of Longmont died peacefully in his sleep October 3, 2009 at Timberline Lodge. He was born March 18, 1948 inKerbala, the Republic of Iraq. He attended Baghdad University where he graduated in the spring of 1972 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology. From 1972-1982 he taughtthe high school sciences of Zoology, Botany, and Chemistry in Twereage, Iraq. In the fall of 1982 he came to the United States to pursue graduatestudy. He earned his Master's Degree in Zoology at Colorado State University in Fort Collins in 1986. He completed his class work for his PhD in Genetic Physiology before 1991 at that university, but hisstudies were interrupted due to the Gulf War. In 1985 while at CSU he met Sharon Kelly, which began a relationship that endured until his death. They were married on May 28, 1991 and madeLongmont their home. He was employed with CH Diagnostic and Consulting in Loveland from 1994 to 2006 working in their water testing laboratory.As symptoms of Parkinson's Disease began to debilitate him he had to give up his Work. This was very difficult for him. Before his disease began to make everything much harder he enjoyed traveling. His favorite place was Glenwood Springs, CO- a weekend trip each year with Sharon. They also traveled to the West coast, Mexico, and the Black Hills. He said, "" You can't look at nature's beauty without knowing there is a God."" Mr. Alyaseri is survived by his mother in Southern Iraq and three brothers, Hussain, Hassan, and Ahmed and three sisters, Nisren, Mayson,and Sundus. He leaves 15 nieces and nephews. His family all reside in Iraq. His adopted family and friends in this country have warm feelingsfor him and feel a loss with his death. He was a quiet, gentle man who broadened the minds and hearts of those of us he touched. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 8, 2009 at 12 p.m. at Howe Mortuary Chapel, with Chaplain Mary Dobbs presiding. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery, Longmont. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
