Allen A. “Shorty” Overton, age 73 of Longmont died January 14, 2013 at the Applewood Living Center. Allen was born August 16, 1939 in Spring Valley, Illinois to Clifford and Emma (Wilkerson) Overton. Allen was a bicycle courier and was the resident manager of Inn Between of Longmont for many years.
Allen graduated from Dartmouth College with a degree in archeology. He moved to Boulder County in 1992 from Seattle, Washington. Allen enjoyed coin collecting, loved to read books, spending hours at the public library. He particularly enjoyed books about World War II. Allen was an avid bike rider and worked out daily at the YMCA when his health permitted.
A celebration of Allen’s life will be at 3:00 p.m. Friday, January 25, 2013 at the Inn Between of Longmont, 250 Kimbark Street.
