Alyce Kay Madison was born May 3, 1940, in Ogallala, Nebraska to Virgil Madison and Nova Maxine Lee. She grew up on the Madison farm northwest of Ogallala, graduating from Ogallala High School in 1958. She departed us on August 17, 2024 in Longmont, Colorado.
Alyce married and had three children, Angela Ann, Lori Lynn and Douglas Jay. She made her early home with the children in Ogallala but by way of the states of Washington, California and Nebraska she migrated to Colorado in search of career opportunities.
Alyce moved around the greater Denver area before settling her family in the Tri-Town Community of Frederick, Firestone and Dacono. There the family flourished in the small community and each of the three siblings graduated from area high schools.
Alyce grew professionally from various office jobs in several companies, selling real estate at Kinkane Realty and landed a significant career opportunity in the finance department for the Air Force at Buckley Air Base in Aurora. After many years there she transitioned to the United States Postal Service where she eventually retired as the Postmaster in Lyons, Colorado.
Once her children became adults Alyce enjoyed traveling with the Ports of Call travel club where she met many new friends and experienced a broader world. She also enjoyed researching her family genealogy and creating embroidery items, which we’ll always cherish.
Alyce is survived by her daughter Angela (Leo) Martinez, Lori Adams and Douglas (Linda) Kudrna, five grandchildren, Jessica, Tyler, Stephanie, Kenzie and Kellen, her step-grandson Jason Adams and her special furry kid Penny. She will be watching over as her first great-grandchild arrives in November.
Alyce was preceded in death by her parents Virgil and Nova Maxine as well as her brother Bill.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
