

Amador El Gordo Salomon Quiñones, age 70, passed away surrounded by his family on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at Longs Peak Hospital in Longmont. He was born February 14, 1949 in Neuvo Ideal, Durango, MX to Manuel Salomon and Rosario (Quiñones) Salomon. He met his wife, Lupe, in Cuidad Juarez in 1976 and they immigrated to Colorado in 1980. Prior to coming to Colorado, he worked as a passenger bus driver in Cuidad Juarez and when he arrived in Colorado he started working in Longmont at Tanaka Farms as a farmhand and eventually went to Stromquist Farms where he retired in 2003. He worked very hard and loved doing the work that he did. He was a member of St. John's the Baptist Catholic Church located in Longmont. He loved baseball and softball for the majority of his life, playing in local competitive leagues in Longmont and passionately following the Colorado Rockies since their first game in 1993. He was also a big lover of music, food, and being around his family and friends. He had a contagious laugh and could bring anyone's spirits up with his sense of humor. Amador is preceded in death by his father and mother who lived in Longmont, CO. He is survived by his wife Maria Guadalupe Lupe Bustamante from Firestone, CO; his sons: Cesar Antonio Bibi Salomon from Mexico, Jesus Manuel (Mandi) Salomon from Firestone, Adan (Amanda) Salomon from Firestone, Amador Jr. (Robyn Bosica) Salomon from Longmont; his daughters: Eva (Chris Kellogg) Salomon from Loveland, and Margarita Salomon from Firestone; his brothers: Juan Manuel (Margarita) Salomon from Longmont, Jose Angel Salomon from San Jose, CA, Francisco Kiko (Rosalia) Salomon from Longmont; his sisters: Olga (Carlos) Mena from Longmont, Elvia (Ugo) Salomon from Longmont, Bertha (Lupe) Mendoza from Longmont, Rosa (Carlos) Solis from El Paso, TX, Belem Salomon from Longmont, and Lola (Tony) Nelson from Loveland; his grandchildren: Bernadino, Jesus Manuel Jr, Dante, Graciana, Zayla, Amador Ezayis, Noah, Elyas, and Adan Jr. all from the Longmont and Firestone area, and many nieces and nephews. Services are as followed: Viewing will be on Monday, February 25, 2019 from 4pm-6pm with the Rosary starting at 6pm at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel located at 326 Terry St. in Longmont. Mass will be held on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at 11am at St. John's the Baptist Catholic Church located at 323 Collyer St in Longmont. Interment will be held at 1pm at Mountain View Cemetery located at 62 11th ave in Longmont. A reception will be held following the burial at The Moose Lodge located 2210 Pratt St. in Longmont.
