Anna L. Reid

Anna L. Reid of Longmont, Colorado, died July 14, 2008 at Clare Bridge Senior Living in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. She was 95.Born on July 18, 1912, at Westerville, Nebraska, she was the daughter of Charles and Cora (Leech) Lowder. She graduated from Westerville High School in 1929.In 1938 she graduated from the University of Nebraska with a Bachelor of Science degree. After teaching for several years, first in Hooker County, Nebraska rural schools and then in Arnold and North Platte, Nebraska, she moved to Denver, Colorado and taught in the Denver schools for 25 years. Also during this time, she earned a masters degree in elementary education from the University of Denver, graduating in 1956.On August 7, 1943, she married Bruce W. Reid in Denver. The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary August 7, 1993. Mr. Reid passed away March 11, 1996.She joined the Westerville Methodist Church at an early age and was a Methodist most of her life. After her Bruce's retirement, the couple moved to Longmont and in 1986, she joined Longs Peak United Methodist Church and was a member of the United Methodist Women for many years.Survivors include several nieces and nephews from Colorado, Nebraska, Texas and Arizona, as well as many friends.Graveside services will be held at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 21, 2008 with Reverend Sandy Stewart officiating.
