Ann Dworak was born October 19, 1925 at the family farmstead in Rush County, Kansas, the youngest of three children born to Charles and Elva Forbes. After graduation from high school she worked at the Boeing plant in Wichita to support the war effort. She later married Paul Nitsch, having three children Paul, Shelley and Julie. Shortly after Julie’s passing at age one, the family relocated to Boulder. Later divorcing, Ann became the sole provider for her family in the years following by working steadfastly in the real estate profession.
Ann moved to Longmont in 1973 and in 1977 married Ed (Edmund) Dworak. In later years, she was able to devote more time to her passion of sewing and started her business “Sew-Ann-Sew”. She made beautiful clothing, draperies and upholstery work for her clients, friends and family. Ann was also an amazing cook. One of her family’s favorite memories are the wonderful Christmas mornings complete with home-made orange rolls, hand canned peaches, and wonderful Christmas family dinners (for 25).
Ann and Ed were proud to be founding members of Faith Community Lutheran Church. Ann also volunteered for the O.U.R. center, spanning 25 years from its opening. For many years, she could also be found zipping through the streets of Longmont as she delivered Meals-On-Wheels.
Ann was predeceased by her husband Ed, daughter Julie, son-in-law Forrest (Woody) Green, her parents and two siblings. She is survived by her children Paul Nitsch (Jutta), Shelley Green (Bob Coulter), Ned (Edward) Dworak (Kathy), Elizabeth Dworak and grandson Brandon Green.
A Private family service will be held later this month at Faith Community Lutheran Church in Longmont.
The family would like to thank Seven Lakes Memory Care in Loveland for providing such good care for Ann the last three years. Memorial services are pending. Donations can be made to the Longmont Humane Society in lieu of flowers.
