

Annabelle G. OliverJune 18, 1923 – Dec. 8, 2008Annabelle G. Oliver, 85, of Longmont passed away December 8, 2008 at the Hospice Care Center of Boulder and Broomfield Counties in Louisville.Annabelle was born June 18, 1923 in Fall River, Massachusetts. Her parents were Milton and Florence Halliwell. She married William L. Oliver in Fall River on January 21, 1946 and moved to her husband's home in Pennsylvania following the wedding.In 1982, Annabelle and her daughter moved to Longmont. She worked in retail sales until she retired. She was active in her church, First Lutheran Church of Longmont. She was a member of the Rachel Circle and attended bible study classes. She helped to prepare the monthly Reminder and participated in the activities of the senior ministry of the church. Annabelle was also a member of the Dinner Belles, a group of widows of First Lutheran who got together monthly for dinner and fellowship. She was also an avid pinochle player, playing at the Senior Center and at St. Vrain Manor, where she lived. She also enjoyed taking classes at the Senior Center. Annabelle will be remembered by her family and friends for her infectious sense of humor. Two of her nephews considered her the funniest person they had ever met.Annabelle is survived by her daughter, Donna, of Longmont; sisters Avis Flynn of Cumberland, Rhode Island and Carolle (Rodney) Kerr of Longmont, and nieces and nephews. She is also survived by sisters-in-law Ruth (Otis) Oliver and Sevenna Oliver of Palmyra, Pennsylvania who were like her sisters. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Milton Halliwell, Jr. and sister Barbara Bettencourt.A memorial service will be held January 17, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at First Lutheran Church, 3rd and Terry, in Longmont.
