Antonio S. Beltran, 77, was given his angel wings on June 16, 2020. His final days were spent surrounded by family in Longmont. Antonio was born on August 5,1943 to Anna Maria Simental and Manuel Beltran in the state of Zacatecas, Mexico. He didn't have the opportunity for much formal education. He helped out on his family's ranch and worked other small jobs starting at an early age. He liked to reminisce and tell stories of his adventures in working in the fields and sleeping under the stars with his horse and dog. As a young man in Mexico, he trained horses and mastered trick roping. His love of horses brought him to the United States at age 19 to the forests of Oregon, where he initially worked for a saw mill, then travelled across the Southwest working at different ranches. He was a natural at breaking feral horses. He relocated to Colorado, and began a 36 year career at Longmont Foods (ConAgra). It was here he met the love of his life, Betty Schwartz. He is credited with never calling off a day of work in his entire career.
Antonio accomplished anything he set his mind to. He was self-taught in many trades. His work ethic was impressive (as was his toolbox) and the desire to take care of his family was his motivation. He enjoyed taking his family on vacations, attending his children's sporting events, and spending time with his grandchildren. They often accompanied him on early morning fishing trips and learned to love nature as much as he did. He taught them, by example, honesty, patience and kindness.
Antonio had a lifelong love of fishing. He often stopped by the local ponds to fish, even for a few minutes, on his way home from work. He went fishing, almost daily, after retirement. He spent countless hours working on his many fishing poles and always kept fishing gear in his vehicle.
He leaves his daughter Amelia Sanchez; son, Juan Antonio Beltran (Sarah); his grandchildren, Troy (Korina) Wright-Beltran, Sasha Dominguez, Joseph Sanchez, Aliyah Sanchez, and Savannah Beltran; brothers Isais Beltran, Manuel Beltran (Maria), Filemon Beltran (Chole); sister-in-law Maria Beltran; nieces and nephews; and many life-long friends.
His new mission will take him to a wonderful place. Antonio will be reunited with his beloved Betty, with whom he shared 38 blissful years with. He will also join his parents, brothers Jose Beltran (Aleja), Filiberto Beltran; sister Esther Beltran (Miguel); sisters-in-law Elizabeth Beltran and Deanna Beltran. He will be missed, but rewarded with peace and surrounded by God's grace.
