Audrey Nadine (Hinderliter) Lutz of Longmont, CO, was born in rural Kingman County, KS, on the family wheat farm, on November 15, 1947, to Walter J. and Mildred N. (Allen) Hinderliter. She was very much the tomboy and spent hours climbing trees, scaling anything with height and collecting the rattles off rattlesnakes with friends, being mischievous in nature. Her father passed away when she was 5. She moved with her mother and sisters to many cities in Kansas, including Kingnan, Wichita and Salina.
The family moved to Denver when her step father, Airforce Sgt. James A. Brosnan, needed VA care in the early 1960's. The family settled in Longmont in 1964. This is where she would spend the rest of her life, except for a short time in Windsor and summers later in life at her niece's, in Wray. After high school she attended beauty school. She was a hairdresser for Vi's Beauty Salon. Nobody could do a better beehive than Audrey. When chemicals used at work began to affect her health, she accepted a job with Best Stop Duelamatic, doing industrial sewing. She began her career as a medical billing specialist and pharmaceutical technician after attending T.H. Pickens College. She worked for Northeast Colorado HomeHealth, Rocky Mountain Ltc. Pharmacy in Greeley, PharMerica and the Medicine Shoppe drug store in Longmont until retirement.
Audrey married Lloyd Lutz in 1971. To this union was born Robert "Allen" Lutz and Brice E. Lutz. Daughter Sheri L. (Lutz) Trevino was born to her marriage to Robert "Bobbÿ' Allen. Audrey raised these three beautiful children mostly by herself with family help. She taught them all to fish and spent much quality time at area lakes with her family. Her last fishing day was July 4, 2021, with her children and grandchildren. Active in crafts and baking, she entered many items in Boulder and Yuma County fairs over the years. Later, after retiring, she enjoyed being a fair superintendent for Crops and Garden at Yuma County fair every August. She enjoyed traveling the state with her sisters and niece, seeing the sights on multiple "Girls Weekend Outs".
