Audrey Ann Whitefoot was born to Jake and Dora Thompson on February 24, 1939 in Dalton, Nebraska. She passed to her heavenly home on August 10, 2024. Ann’s family spent time with her during her last few days and she was comfortable and peaceful as she passed. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, September 23, 2024, at Faith Community Lutheran Church at 9775 Ute Highway in Longmont Colorado. A light reception will follow the Celebration at the church.
Those who knew her called her Ann. She grew up in the Weyert’s Community in rural Nebraska on the family farm. She was from a family of five children, three brothers and one sister. She attended Lodgepole High School not far from the farm. It was there that she met her one and only, Harold Whitefoot. They were married shortly after they graduated from high school. The two made a life together in Nebraska for a few years and then moved to Laramie, Wyoming where she worked and Harold finished college. After four years of marriage the two of them started a family which included three daughters and one son.
Ann worked at the telephone company, as a homemaker, at school districts, as a home care provider for little ones, and eventually as a medical assistant in a doctor’s office. After she and Harold retired, they moved to their dream home on the Star Valley Ranch Golf Course in Star Valley, Wyoming. It was the perfect place for their family to gather and enjoy each other. Ann’s interests and hobbies included sewing, quilt making, flower gardening, golfing, cooking, and baking, especially baking Christmas cookies with her children and her grandchildren. She has been a long time member of Faith Community Lutheran Church in Longmont. Above all, Ann was a strong Christian woman and loved being in the company of her children and her grandchildren.
