

He was born in Melvern Kansas on May 20th 1925 to Evalina (Black) and WF ""Pat"" Haskins. He was employed as a sheepherder in Wyoming at the age of 15 years old. He attended High School in Buffalo Wyoming and was part of the high school football team. He loved sports and was also the boy’s basketball team manager
.
He proudly joined the US Navy on March 2nd 1943 and proudly served on the USS Pennsylvania. He served as a Seaman 1st Class Gunners Mate during WWII. He was an American hero and one of America's best. Following his honorable discharge, he returned to Boulder Colorado and became a Baker at the family bakery shop.
A few years later he joined Boulder Excavating Company in Boulder Colorado. He was the Crane Operator and wore many hats for the company such as mechanic, welder and he could operate any piece of machinery. His skills allowed him to touch many places throughout Boulder County, therefore becoming an integral part in the history and growth of Boulder. He had a skillful hand in the construction of many of the buildings at the University of Colorado. He also had a major part in the construction of the Pearl Street Mall. He also was a part time bar tender at the Broken Drum Tavern in Boulder to help in providing for his family. He was also a life long member of the Elks Lodge.
He enjoyed his family, reading, camping, fishing and hunting.
He married his bride of 46 years, Barbara Watson on June 18, 1965 in Boulder. They made their home in Boulder where they lived until they moved to Longmont in 1999 to be closer to their family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Buel Haskins, and brother in law Robert Laingor.
He will be missed by his wife Barbara and their six children, Dona Johnson, Sheryl Alvarez (Vincent), Michael Watson (Iris), Randy Watson (Kathy) Stacia Kabbash (CJ) and Becky Ashcraft. He is also survived by 14 amazing Grandchildren and 11 wonderful Great Grandchildren. His sister Delores Laingor, and his sister in law Evelyn Haskins also survive him.
He will truly be missed by all of his family. It was with great patience that he taught us all to love the outdoors and to enjoy what it had to offer each of us.
A celebration of his life will be held at the Howe Mortuary Chapel on Saturday, September 17th at 3:00pm.
