Barbara Eldrene Goranson

Barbara Eldrene Goranson, 76, of Lyons, CO died June 25, 2012 at her home. She was born May 5, 1936 in Broken Bow, NE the daughter of Eldred and Wanda (Davis) Grimes. Barbara married Bill Mixon on June 7, 1954. He preceded her in death. On June 9, 1961 she then married Wallace Albert “Wally” Goranson in Boulder.

Barbara worked at the soda fountain and the post office in Lyons. She enjoyed working in her yard, gardening, collecting dolls and creating and painting ceramics. She had also participated in the Lyons Softball League, and in Longmont Bowling and Volleyball teams

Survivors include her sons Scott Mixon of Arvada, CO, Harold Mixon of Yakima, WA, Albert Goranson (Linda), David Goranson (Pam) and Glen Goranson (Kim) of Lyons, CO and her daughters Jackie Noblitt (Steve) of Dornsife, PA and Linda Marie Johnson (Barry) of Lyons. She is further survived by 14 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and her sisters Lonzetta Grimes, and Bonnie Green of Libby, MT. and Sheila Malcolm of Longmont, CO.

Preceding Barbara in death were her parents, both of her husbands, one grandchild and her sister Donna Warfield.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 28 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Howe Mortuary. Cremation will follow the visitation.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 29, 2012 at the Lyons Cemetery with David Bradshaw officiating.
