

Barbara was born on May 31, 1963, in Elkhart, Kansas, to Ernest Cecil Royval and Mary Alice Barela. She spent her childhood in the warmth of a large family, growing up alongside her six siblings and many cousins. She attended Niwot high school.
Barbara worked for Sherwood Enterprises for several years, and later as a flagger in construction, where she played an important and valued role. She attended both Flatirons Church and Red Rocks Church.
Above all, Barbara was a devoted mother. She raised two beautiful children whom she loved unconditionally, always willing to make any sacrifice necessary to care for her family. She took immense pride in Desiree and Julian. Known for her generous heart, Barbara would give her very last dollar to someone in need. She cherished every moment spent with her partner Mark, her children, and her extended family.
Barbara is survived by her longtime partner, Mark Leahy; her children, Desiree Marie Royval and Julian Paul Royval; her siblings, Don (Sylvia) Roybal, Frank Royval, Shirley Royval, Elizabeth Martinez, Donna Royval, and Debra Royval; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who came to know and love her. She was preceded in death by her father.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Trinity Baptist Church, 904 Atwood Street, Longmont, Colorado 80501. A graveside committal service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Mountain View Cemetery, 620 11th Avenue, Longmont, Colorado 80501. A reception will be held afterward at Trinity Baptist Church; guests are invited to bring a dish to share.
Cremation is entrusted to Howe Mortuary & Crematory of Longmont, Colorado.
