Barry was born November 6, 1953 in Oakland, Nebraska to Shirley and Leonard Erickson. Barry spent his youth in northeastern Nebraska hunting, fishing, and enjoying water sports on the nearby Missouri River. Barry also learned to play the guitar, a passion that continued throughout the rest of his days. After graduation from high school, Barry began his career as a power lineman for Nebraska Public Power, and continued that career with independent contractors throughout the west until injury forced him to pursue a different career path. He began his own business, One Call Services, specializing in restaurant equipment repair, for many businesses in the Boulder and Longmont area. Barry retired in 2017 in order to spend more time with his family and friends and to devote more time to playing his beloved vintage Fender-Strat guitar.
Barry is survived by his wife, Adelia, of Longmont, CO; sons, Zach, Bryce, and Derek; father, Leonard; two sisters and brother-in-law Kathy Carson and Cynthia and Dick Schinstock; and grandchildren, Matthew, Zoe, Sophia, and Isabella and many other relatives and friends who will dearly miss his presence.
There will be two Celebrations of Life held for Barry in the early spring, one in Longmont and one in Nebraska. Details will be announced at a later time. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Prostate Cancer Foundation.
