Bernard Pearson

Bernard Buzz Pearson, 68, of Longmont passed away December 4, 2012 at the Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland.He was born January 8, 1944 in Crawford, Nebraska to Lee and Aletha (Jensen) Pearson. The family moved to Wray, Colorado where he graduated from high school in 1961.Buzz married Janet Bock on October 4, 1964 in Longmont.After a 44 year career with Safeway Stores in Longmont, he retired in 2004 and happily filled his time with his favorite hobbies and activities. He enjoyed yard work, gardening, camping, boating, motorcycling, traveling and cooking.Although a little quiet at first, Buzz had a smarty-pants sense of humor and a brave state of mind. He was a dedicated and loving husband, father and grandfather to his very special granddaughter where even the mention of her name brought undeniable joy. Buzz is survived by his wife Janet of Longmont; son Robert Pearson (partner Terry) of Seattle, Washington, daughter Shelly Casey (husband Clint) of Pompano Beach, FL; granddaughter Lauren Casey; brother Leonard Pearson and five sisters Deloris Meyers, Nancy Trevarton, Susan Pearson, Kathy Pearson and Cheryl Pearson.A Celebration of Life service will be held 2:00pm Friday, December 21, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 6th from 4:00-6:00pm at Ahlberg Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, to honor Buzz's memory and the special relationship with his Granddaughter, you may bring a new, unwrapped toy that Lauren will share with those less fortunate this Christmas.
