Grandma,

How can it be that you’ve gone a year already? It’s been a year since I’ve heard your sweet genuine laugh. Since I told a corny joke and made you laugh deep in your belly. I know that you’re no longer struggling and no longer in pain, for that I’m thankful even though we miss you. I love you grandma. 

Sister Bertha,
I'm missing you a whole lot already.  I didn't get to see you much when you were growing up, because I was in the Air Force for so long.  You were only 5 years old when I went into the Service, but whenever I came home on leave, I used to play with you.  Later on when you were married to Joe, we did many fun things.
I've always loved you and enjoyed being around you and your family.  
I'm the only one left of our family now. It feels real strange being alone.
Our prayers to you.  Anything your family needs, they can count on us.

My Aunt Bertha. You were one of a kind, and you marched to your own drummer. The last time I saw you is when you came to California for a visit, and we took you to the beach on a beautiful sunny day.
