Bertha Mae Smith, of Brighton, died Monday, December 18, 2006 at the Peaks Care Center in Longmont. She was 92 years old.Born September 1, 1914 in Denver to William and Mabel (Rieker) Jenkins. She has lived in various communities along the front range her entire life. Mrs. Smith is preceded in death by her husbands Sam H. Knapp and Lionel M. Smith; her son Terry Knapp; daughter, Georgia Jane Culig; a brother and two sisters.She is survived by her two daughters, Dorothy Knapp of Brighton and Karen Rasmussen of Wiggins; 13 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren; and a sister.Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 27th at Howe Mortuary in Longmont. Interment will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Elmwood Cemetery in Brighton. Chaplain Daryl Meyers officiating.
