Bertha Katrina Trabing

Bertha Katrina Trabing, of Longmont, Colorado, died Tuesday, October 31, 2006 at her home following a long illness. She was 71 years old.Bert was born December 31, 1934 in St. Joseph, Missouri to Victor and Madge (Gladen) Tournier. As a young girl, she moved with her family from Wathena, Kansas to Colorado. She graduated from Englewood High School in 1951.On July 5, 1968, Bert married Gene Edward Trabing in Littleton, Colorado. The couple made their home in the Denver area before moving to Longmont in 2002.Mrs. Trabing worked as a checker with Safeway for 18 years, at stores in Northglenn and Broomfield.She enjoyed camping and picnicking with her family as well as sewing and embroidery projects. She was a talented gardener and baker. She was also an avid fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and the Denver Broncos.Survivors include her husband, Gene Trabing of Longmont; two sons, David Goodman and his wife, Janet, of Greeley, Colorado, and William Trabing and his wife, Balinda, of Longmont, Colorado; three daughters, Kathy Villarreal and her family of Thornton, Colorado, Pam Welch and her husband, David, of Wiggins, Colorado and Victoria Hagen and her husband, Glenn of Breckenridge, Colorado; three brothers, Bryce, Fred and Charles Tournier of Denver, Colorado, and a sister, Carol Heitman and her husband, Joe, of Denver, Colorado. She is further survived by 21 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, James Goodman, and Fred, as an infant; and two great grandsons, Bryce, as an infant, and John Villarreal.Visitation will be held from 1-7 p.m. on Friday, November 3, 2006 at Howe Mortuary, Longmont. Family will greet friends from 5-7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 4, also at the Mortuary. Officiating will be Chaplain Jodi Bushdiecker of HospiceCare of Boulder and Broomfield Counties. Interment will be at 12:00 noon at Ft.
