Betty Jo is survived by her loving husband, Duane Dreith; her chidren, Dana, Todd and Paige; grandchildren, Benjamin, Taylor, Samuel, Zachary and Kellen; and her Sister Debbie. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Linda and Carol; and her son Wesley Scott.
Betty Jo was born on October 26th, 1938 in Rocky Comfort, Missouri, the oldest of four sisters to the late Raymond and Virgie Horton. Her family moved to Colorado when she was five years old. She attended schools in Longmont, graduating from Longmont High School in 1957. In August of 1958, she married the love of her life, Duane Dreith and four children were born from that union. Betty Jo worked for over forty years in the medical field, with more than 25 years of her career in the employ of Dr. Alfred Carr in Longmont. Quilting was a great passion in her life, in which she was skilled and created numerous works that are cherished by all those in possession of her artistry. In addition to quilting, she also enjoyed collecting Longaberger baskets, doing crossword puzzles and Colorado Rockies baseball. Her relation to Christ was very important as she spent much of her time studying the Bible and in fellowship with others. Betty Jo treasured being surrounded by her five grandchildren who brought her tremendous joy; and most of all she enjoyed travelling and spending time with her beloved husband Duane.
Memorial services will be held Saturday March 12th at 2pm, at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel at 326 Terry Street in Longmont. The family would like to express much appreciation to Sandy of Visiting Angels who provided much needed care for the last three and a half year of her life.
