Betty L. Stitzel

Betty L. Stitzel, 86, of Longmont passed away April 13, 2016 at Longmont United Hospital.She was born February 27, 1930 to Hiram and Evelyn (Boze) Hicks. Betty graduated from Longmont High School in 1948, and then from secretarial school in Denver.On June 28, 1952 she married George E. Stine, together they had six children, they later divorced. Betty married John C. Stitzel on May 7, 1984 in Las Vegas.Betty spent many years as a teller for Midland Savings and Loan and later as a mortgage lender in Longmont and Boulder. She retired in 1992.She was a member of Faith Community Lutheran Church was an avid gardener, cook and loved spending time with her family.Betty is survived by husband John, six children Kristy Myers (Rod), Ron Stine (Catherine), Sally Stine (Dave Keltesch), Jackie Hynes (Bob), Debbie Torres (Ruben) and Kim Snyder (Steve), her brother Skip Hicks (Kay), five stepchildren, and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.Interment service will be held at 1:00pm Monday, April 18, 2016 at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery. A celebration of Betty's life will be at 2:00pm Monday, April 18, 2016 at Faith Community Lutheran Church.
