Boyd was born March 30, 1943, in Boone, Iowa to Edward Fuller and Hazel (Folly) Fuller.
Boyd passed away peacefully, at home, December 17, 2018 after battling an aggressive cancer.
Boyd is survived by his wife Pat, 4 children, Jodie Fuller, Ryan Fuller (wife Angie), Janet Possehl (husband Michael) and Troy McDaniel(wife Tarri). Boyd has 11 grandchildren; Brandon, Wesley and Joshua Fuller. Shelby, Abby and Aubrey Erdmann; Trevor and Tiana McDaniel; Ally Brunner; Quinn and Grant Possehl . In addition, many cousins, dear friends and church family.
When Boyd was 11 months old his family moved from Boone, Iowa to Boulder, Colorado where he graduated from high school. Boyd then completed one year at Mesa Community College in Grand Junction, CO and one year at CU in Boulder.
Boyd was in retail for a number of years working at Fashion Bar, Walmart and JC Penney’s. He then worked and retired from Public Service, Co., with 24 years of service. Following his retirement , Boyd worked for the City of Longmont where he drove a trash truck. He then transferred to Longmont Power and Communications as an Energy Specialist. Boyd drove a Charter Bus for a time, then school buses and finally trained bus drivers for the Johnstown School District.
Boyd had such diverse interests and he did them with a passion. Since he was a little boy, he loved fishing and later fly fishing. In high school he was on the ski team and participated in a rock n’ roll band; playing rhythm guitar. He loved Buddy Holly, “surfin” music and later country western music, especially Alan Jackson and Don Williams. He participated in the Soap Box Derby through the Boulder Jaycees. Later he became Director. He attended 2 national championships with his participant winning in 1974. Boyd loved camping the most with his “buddy” Pat, and spending as much time as he could with her. He loved her dearly, from going to baseball games, watching football on TV together and spending time with family and friends. For the past few years Boyd also loved being the leader of the usher team at church. He greeted everyone with a hug, a hand shake, a pat on the back and a smile on his face.
Boyd is best remembered for “never knowing a stranger”, a lovable, goofy sense of humor and the warmest hugs ever. Boyd was well loved. There will be many fun memories of Boyd for years to come.
