

Bruce was born on June 30, 1944 in Bryn Mawr, PA, to Bert B. and MaryLu Ross. He was graduated from Brown University, magna cum laude, and from Princeton University, where he received his PhD in aeronautical engineering. Bruce worked at the Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory in Princeton for 30 years as a climate research scientist and later as deputy director.
Bruce married his college sweetheart, Keyo Smith, in 1968. They raised their children, Erika and Brian, in Lawrenceville, NJ. In 2005, Bruce and Keyo moved to Longmont, CO. Bruce was an active participant in the regrowth of the Longmont Tennis Association. He was also an avid gardener and a certified Colorado Master Gardner. And he volunteered at SeniorNet and the Saint Vrain Adult School.
Bruce is survived by his wife Keyo; son Brian Ross, New York City; son-in-law Tom Weaver, Denver; brother Robert Ross and sister-in-law Wendy Ross, niece and nephew Suzy Shelton and Christopher Ross, Australia; and brother-in-law Ted Smith, Denver. Bruce is preceded in death by his daughter, Erika Keyo Weaver,
and his parents.
