Burdette Smith

Burdette D. Smith, age 74 of Longmont died January 20, 2013 at the Peaks Care Center of Longmont. Mr. Smith was born October 2, 1938 in Beardstown, Illinois to Virgil and Buelah (Morrell) Smith. Burdette worked as a cement finisher and was a security guard for a time, prior to his retirement.

Burdette was a past member of the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and gambling. He married Vicki White on May 15, 1964 in East Peoria, Illinois. The Smiths moved to Longmont in 1972.

Survivors include his wife Vicki of Longmont, one son James of Westminster, Colorado, one daughter Monica Armijo of Denver, Colorado, one brother Michael Smith of Beardstown, Illinois, two sisters, Rosalee Blackwell of Cooksville, Tennessee and Rebecca Davis of Beardstown, Illinois. Two grandchildren also survive. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter Dawn Bealow in 1971 and by one brother Ronald Smith.

A celebration of life for Burdette Smith will take place Friday, January 25, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the Community Room of the Howe Mortuary. Cremation has been entrusted to Howe Mortuary.
