Drexel C. Leonard, 79, of Longmont, died December 13, 2009 at Juniper Village in Louisville, CO. Drexel was born on August 26, 1930 in Corning, IA to Harry and Hazel (Gillet) Leonard. He graduated from Corning High School in 1948. On March 4, 1951 he married Jean Cooper in Corning, Iowa. They eventually moved to California in 1960 and then moved to Longmont, CO in 1967.Drexel worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 35 years, retiring in 1996. He and Jean enjoyed traveling around the United States as well as spending time with his friends and family. Preceding him in death was his parents, brother and sister. He is survived by his wife Jean, daughters Debra Rosengrant and her husband Dave and Pamela Meier and her husband Gary and his two beloved granddaughters Lauren and Megan Meier. Further survivors include his sister-in-law Murle Leonard and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 18 at the First United Methodist Church of Longmont, CO.
